Silicon carbide crystals are good semiconductor materials with high stability, and currently, the silicon carbide crystal materials used in our country mainly rely on imports. Shandong University has started research on silicon carbide crystal materials since the beginning of this century, undertaking major scientific research projects related to the national 863 and 973 programs, establishing a leading position in silicon carbide single crystal research technology in the country. After nearly 10 years of research and over 2000 crystal growth experiments, researchers have broken the foreign blockade and successfully developed reliable silicon carbide crystal material preparation technology. Silicon carbide single crystal substrates and sapphire substrates are widely used in civil aviation, semiconductor lighting, optoelectronics, power transmission, broadband communication, and other technical fields. The implementation of this industrialization project will greatly shorten the gap between our country and advanced countries in the world. At the same time, silicon carbide single crystal substrates are also significant energy-saving and environmentally friendly materials.
